Who writes it and why
I'm Maya Kaur, a Toronto-based photographer. For the past four years, I've been shooting clients inside illusion rooms, trick-perspective studios, and interactive art installations across the GTA. Birthday parties, engagement reveals, influencer content, corporate team photos — if it involves forced perspective and LED lighting, I've probably lit it.
I started this guide because I kept answering the same questions from clients: Which room is best? When should we go? Why do my phone photos look nothing like the promo shots?
The answers aren't complicated, but they're hard to find. Venue websites show polished marketing photos, not the reality of a Saturday afternoon with thirty people in the frame. Review sites tell you whether someone "had fun" but not whether the infinity room photographs better at noon or 4 PM.
So I wrote down everything I've learned across hundreds of sessions. No ticket sales, no affiliate links, no partnerships. Just the practical information I'd give a friend before their first visit.
Every opinion on this site is mine. When I say the vortex tunnel photographs poorly, that's based on attempting to shoot it dozens of times for paying clients. When I say Saturday is a bad time to visit for photos, that's based on losing an engagement session to crowd density.
